Our graduates are eligible to take the national certification examination for the occupational therapy assistant administered by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT). A felony conviction may affect a graduate’s ability to sit for the NBCOT exam for professional certification and/or attain state licensure.

OTA Graduation Requirements
Graduation ceremonies are held at the end of each trimester. Application for graduation must be made through the Registrar’s Office by the published deadline, but preferably at least one semester prior to graduation. Students who apply for graduation but fail to meet graduation requirements must reapply and pay appropriate fees. The Registrar’s Office will certify the completion of graduation requirements.
Parker University’s graduation requirements for an Associate of Applied Science with a major in Occupational Therapy Assistant Program are as follows:
- * Have satisfactorily fulfilled all requirements of the institution’s academic regulations and curriculum for that program;
- * Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
- * Have a grade of at least a “C” or 70% in all courses; passing the final course prior to graduation
- * Are not on academic probation or subject to disciplinary sanctions at the time of graduation;
- * Have satisfactorily fulfilled all indebtedness and other obligations to the university;
- * Have exhibited the integrity and high morals expected of a professional; and
- * Have had a financial aid exit interview, if financial aid was received while at Parker University.
In Addition, students in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program must comply with all established criteria as outlined in the programmatic curriculum in order to be eligible for graduation.
Students must compete 16 weeks of fieldwork level-II externship within 12 months of completing the academic coursework. The level-II fieldwork will require a minimum passing grade of 70% in order to obtain full credit.
