Accreditation
The Health Information Management accreditor of Parker University’s Health Information Management program is the Commission on Accreditation for Health Informatics and Information Management Education (CAHIIM). The College’s accreditation for the baccalaureate degree in Health Information Management has been reaffirmed through 2027-2028. CAHIIM serves the public interest by establishing quality standards for the educational preparation of future health information management (HIM) professionals. When a program is accredited by CAHIIM it means that it has voluntarily undergone a rigorous review process and has been determined to meet or exceed the accreditation standards.
Course Information
- A curriculum that allows students to master one course each month
- Preparation for relevant certification and licensure examinations

- 44 credit hours of general education courses
- 80 credit hours of major core courses
Parker University’s fully online Bachelor of Science with a major in Health Information Management has been thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of today’s growing health care industry. Students learn to collect, integrate, and analyze primary and secondary health care data, disseminate information and manage information resources. With courses in areas such as health data management, health statistics, information technology and systems, organization management, privacy, security, and confidentiality, students are prepared to advance their career upon graduation.

Mission
The Health Information Management major provides graduates with the technical and administrative skills to manage health information systems consistent with the professional standards (medical, ethical and legal) in health care delivery systems. Graduates also possess the knowledge and skills needed to plan and develop health information systems which meet standards of accrediting and regulatory agencies.
