Health Care Business Management professionals are an integral part of the health care industry. Having a solid foundation in business principles and practices is essential for the Health Care professional. Forward-thinking managers can help lead Health Care in the right direction.
The Health Care Business Management professional may be responsible for:
- Demonstrating leadership skills and exercising judgment in problem solving
- Taking the initiative to make decisions and being an advocate for change
- Ensuring that policies and procedures are followed
- Monitoring workflows and implementing improvements where needed
- Communicating effectively orally and in writing, internally and externally
The Master of Business Administration with a Major in Management program fosters independent learning and enables students to contribute intellectually to management and leadership positions in all types of business enterprises. In addition, students complete general coursework in valuable areas such as accounting, finance, management, marketing and business research methods.
Students will also be able to demonstrate a conceptual understanding of advanced business strategies and critically analyze and solve problems based on applied quantitative and qualitative analytical research methods. Students will develop an ability to use business research methods to analyze data to make effective and efficient accounting, financial and ethical decisions in a changing global environment.
The Master of Business Administration with a concentration in Information Technology prepares graduates for management positions in business enterprises related to information technology. Students will learn valuable business core concepts in areas such as accounting, finance, management, marketing and business research methods. Students will acquire executive leadership skills with technical competencies in the Information Technology concentration courses in computer networking, database design and management, and object-oriented programming.
The Master of Business Administration with a Concentration in Practice Management Degree will give a Doctor of Chiropractic the business skills and tools needed for the startup and managing of a chiropractic practice.
Graduates of this program will master topics that include ownership structures; entry into the competitive, economic, and social environment; developing a business plan and associated strategies; marketing and selling the product or service; accounting, finance and financing; tax strategies; operations; risk and insurance; legal issues; ethics; and human resources. By analyzing and evaluating current chiropractic practices and small businesses in the healthcare field, graduates will be able to apply management strategies that will allow them to be successful small business owners.
